This wedding took place at one of my favourite venues in KW, The Slit Barn.

This venue has everything when it comes to gorgeous barn weddings. The property consists of the most beautiful heritage barn and home. The barn plays host to dinner and/or your reception and the house acts as a beautifully lit, open space for you and your bridal party to get ready. The main room in the house where you’ll get your dress on and get ready to walk down the aisle reminds me a lot of an old school room. It’s bright, airy and has these big beautiful windowsills. Anyone else a sucker for heritage home trim and windows? The ceremony space is nestled in the backyard of the house in what seems like a magical, grassy garden. One of the best parts about The Slit Barn is the event coordinators and staff. The masterminds at Fresh Look Design, who coordinate and decorate The Slit Barn, are incredible to work with. I personally love getting to chat and work with them and have heard nothing but amazing things about them from my brides.

I haven’t even gotten to the endless spots on the property to take photos… on a day when your schedule is tight or you want to enjoy as much of your cocktail hour as possible, this venue is a blessing! Being a geography nerd I also love the fact that The Slit Barn sits upon land owned by Rare Charitable Reserve who owns and protects 900+ acres of diverse ecosystems in the KW area.

With all that being said this was the perfect venue for this perfect couple. Keshia and Andrew were married here last September on a beautiful day surrounded by their friends and family. Their bridal party was so fun and adventurous and they helped me to create one of my favourite wedding images I’ve taken so far. It’s not often you get to see a bride thrown into the air on her wedding day! I was so thankful to be apart of the celebrations and watch as these two lovebirds made their way into a new chapter in their lives. I was also thankful for the poutine food truck at the end of the night!
