This post is way over due but also just in time…

Julia and Stephen were married one year ago today on Beausoleil Island in Georgian Bay Islands National Park . Growing up they both spent a lot of time with their families their cottages in the Georgian Bay area so their love and knowledge for the area really inspired a one of kind wedding.

It was a weekend long event that began and ended with all of their friends and family loading themselves (and the entire wedding!) up on boats out of Honey Harbour and travelling to the YMCA camp on the island. When we arrived on the Friday evening everyone had dinner together in the main dinning hall that would later double as the reception hall on the night of the wedding. We slept in bunk beds in cabins in the middle of the woods and had a giant bon fire on the shore the night before the wedding. The next morning everyone gathered in the dining hall for breakfast at the sound of the dinner bell and then hiked and canoed the afternoon away before heading back to the hall for the ceremony. It was a rainy day but it cleared up with just enough time for the beautiful ceremony, our photo session and a little bridal party canoe trip. Overall, it was remarkable weekend and it was so wonderful to get to be a part of such a unique, personalized wedding experience.

Julia and Stephen sure know how to organize a killer wedding and one hell of a dance party!
